    Worms in compost - Advice required

    Hi everyone,
    Wanted to plant some lettuce in pots, I opened a bag of shop bought compost from last year (spent the winter outside) and found LOADS of worms.
    Can I still use the compost or just go and get a new bag?

    If you are planting lettuces (plant/seedling) I would use it. However, if you are sowing lettuces (seed) I would get a new bag.

      Thank you for the reply, I am planting "lettuce plant" not seeds so will use it and see what happen!

              Not at all.
              Don't worry about them.
              Sign of a good compost without too many chemicals. If it is good enough for red worms, it's good enough for me.
