  • World Record Potato?

How many chips out of this

BBC NEWS | World | Middle East | Lebanese finds 'heaviest' potato

Interesting that the 'current' record is 3.5 kg (7 lb 13 oz), from the Isle of Man.

Looking at that photo it looks like there's something wrong with it. Looks more like a bad case of some fungal disease than a proper spud

I blame the Israelis for all the crap they have bombed the place with!
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

When I worked in Lebanon I used to go to the Bekka valley quite often. Its very fertile up there so I'm not surprised that things grow. I used to pick fresh dates and figs for breakfast. Fantastic. This may sound a touch strange but should you ever fancy a short trip away for a few days, (cash and commitments not withstanding obviously) Lebanon is the most wonderful place and I would recommend it.

Would not have recognised it as a potato if I hadn't been told.

I don't know what's wrong with that potato but I wouldn't eat it.
