The tops of my early potatoes growing in bags are bent over. The foliage is full and not discoloured but no sign of an flowers. Any thoughts?

My first earlies are doing the same - I've been digging them for a couple of weeks so I know they're ready. I just think the foliage has done it's bit - they don't all flower. My salad potatoes are now flowering, I'm hoping they'll all be ready before the blight arrives! Have you tried furtling around to see what's in the bags?Life is too short for drama & petty things!

I've only grown spuds in the ground,last year. This year is my first try with this variety (Anya) and just assumed they all flower.Will have a ferret in the bag.Comment

The British Potato Council has Anya as second earlies.
How long have they been planted ?The proof of the growing is in the eating.

I'd say they were done too. Mine have all gone over (no flowers) and are quite yummy - and much bigger than last year when impatience got the better of me.TxComment

Hi,mine have turned their leaves over and started to tumble to the ground across the whole 4 rows,1 row of pentland javlin as firsts,1 row of ??? as seconds and 2 rows of marfona as mains,the firsts are cropping quite well but concerned about the others.Comment

You're right Teakdesk, second earlies - my bad. They were planted around early April - according to my blog,the tops were starting to show on April 12th (that's the only record I keep of dates) which makes around 12-13 weeks.
I actually just went out and ferretted through and found a couple of decent size,so I decided to tip out a whole bag and now have loads. I still have another 2 large bags of Anyas, 5 anya plants in the ground and two small bags of charlottes.Comment
