Default will buckets be to small to grow potatoes in?

i usually grow my potatoes in large pots however i keep getting given seed potatoes which im not complaining about, but im running out of things to grow them in. i was given some buckets by a friend to grow some spring onions in but ive had to plant the tattys in them are they too small?, there general household size, once earthed up to top i intend to place inside some compost bags still in the bucket if it requires further earthing up but need to empty or obtain some compost bags first. what do you think are they ok in buckets it was a case of desperate messures

I hope so p_c, I've planted some of my seed spuds in buckets. One spud per bucket. I've not tried such a small growing space for spuds before but I think lots on here have grown in buckets.

i put one potatoe per bucket as well i usually put 3 to 4 in 3ft by 3ft pot but have had to put 4-5 in these as i got more potatoes than pots, we eat lots of potatoes so will save a few pounds and it has entertained the little one this half term as i let her help me plant them.
