Half fill trug with leaves, get strimmer and rotate in trug, minces up leaves wonderful and reduces mass, pluss assists with breakdown into leaf mould.
Found and tested as all the leaves in the street seem to have ended up in our front and back garden.
All the best to you all

Kind of like an industrial leaf-smoothie! I like it

When you say trug I take it you don't mean the traditional shallow type - I can see leaves being thrown all over the garden.

Only half fill or else the leaves do go all over the place, then tip into black placky bag. Insert strimmer in centre to start off with and twist around slowly.
        All the best JP.

You'd be better putting the leaves in either a "bendy bucket" or an old dustbin I think. Must take forever with a trug.

CHRISMARKS, smashing name that Leaf Smoothy, at the allotment I use a battery powered strimmer but it dos'nt last long, I treat this job as a break periods during the day.

I think he means 'tub trug' as it wouldn't work in an actual trug. AKA Bendy Bucket.

Thats what I do, with the box on! Even picks the leaves up off tarmac or other hard surfaces and mulches them! (thats probably why its called a mulch mower)

For the first time ever I have space for a leaf bin and I have almost no leaves Reason for space - had old, tired trees were removed thus no leaves! Had to resort to raiding my friends garden, made her laugh.
