  • Wierd yellow patches!!

Hi, I've got some dwarf green curly kale that I sowed in modules to plant once the onions have come out. They are about 3 inches high and already have lovely curly leaves but in last couple of days have developed bright yellow blotches on the leaves. Help! I'm wondering whether they are suffering in the modules and I should plant out now, or could I get away with feeding for a bit? Trouble is my onions are still getting bigger by the day and I'm reluctant to dig them up, I'm just using them as I need them as they are red onions which I don't believe store very well. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds as if u need to pot on. Put them in bigger pots with fresh compost and hopefully they'll perk up.

That's my thought too. Potting on usually helps. If you cant pot them on. try a weak feed.

I'm sure I read somewhere about yellow blotches on leaves being a sign of deficiency of some sort. Magnesium or some kind of trace element, so maybe Epsom Salts would do the trick ? If you have a copy of Dr Hessayon's book on veggie growing, I think that has a section on this sort of thing.
There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
