I have grown it before and I can't remember it tasting like grass. I am wondering why it tastes like grass now. The flavour is also very strong and long lasting. Is it safe to eat still? Does anyone know why it tastes like grass?

I think it is perpetual spinach, when I grew it before the weather was a bit hotter. I think this time I have left it to grow a lot longer.Comment

Mine has a very grassy/earthy taste as well and I am sure it was not like that last year so perhaps it is the heat as suggested!If it ain't broke...fix it til it is!

Are you picking the outer/larger leaves ??
They are tough and bitter
.....more worrying is that you know what grass tastes like!!!
