Why do I bother?

Yup, it's peas for me - every year I only get enough to sample before they make it into the kitchen. Having said that, it looks as if I might have a bumper crop this year but that's only because I have planted the entire European pea mountain in my garden!

Out of Date Leo's peas are on track to give me a bumper crop

Mine used to be Aubergines

but this year I've given away my remaining seeds and I'm not growing them ever, ever again.
I know they have pretty purple flowers but I'd like more than one tiny aubergine from 4 plants.

Me too, I had forgotten my aubergine disasters.... I have one plant in g/h which doesn't look promising.

For the first year ever I have an amazing crop of strawbs........

I am determined to grow a melon .......one year I will succeed . This year they have got past five leaves (that's probably the kiss of death)

Goji berries. Think this must be its fourth year. If no fruit this year I will be digging it up

Radish all stalk and no bulb and it really gets me when people say 'give children radish to grow they are so easy', and runner beans, red flowers I get but then they just drop off. Every year I say never again.

Chives and spring onions, for some reason. I plant hundreds of chives, but end up buying from Lidl and splitting the pot into numerous small plants...

For me it's salad of any kind. It's eithr all eaten by the slugs (like the row I planted last week at the lottie!!) or it bolts before I get to taste any of it (like ALL the other salad I've grown this year!)

For me its Parsley, it grows occasionally and when it does it runs to seed. Other herbs well I struggle to keep on top of them but Parsley is my nemesis. There's an old saying that 'Parsley grows where to woman rules the roost', well that must be a lie....

Each year I get loads of cherries set, then the birds eat them all.

My personal disaster area is pumpkins and squash -- total failure every year. I've got a bush pumpkin in the GH this year. This is the final, final chance for them...
