  • Whte Patches o Tomato Leaves

Just been for a walk, found that my tomato plants all have white patches on their leaves, it has only formed overnight, is this a major problem?

They come out for the day in the sun, then I put them back indoors each evening into a small outhouse that drops to around 7 or 8 Centigrade each night.

    Hi Andrew

Sounds like sun scorch, if the leaves were wet in stong sun light. Seems it cant be frost if its been above 1 degree.
A picture would help, check my blog there is a little advice there with some pictures.

      Many Thanks

but then they'll be sitting with cold wet feet all night, which they won't like.
Can you not water them first thing in the morning when you take them out?

Most important thing is to water them from the bottom. Sunschorch is caused by water droplets sitting on the leaves. While mine are in small pots I sit the pots into a tray of water until the plants have soaked up all they need. When they are in bigger pots I make sure I water the soil/compost - not the leaves.
