  • whitefly and kohl rabi

Today I discovered whitefly on the leaves of my kohl rabi. Will they affect the swollen stem when it comes time to harvest them, or will they stay on the leaves?

Is there anything I can do to get rid of them (they're all over my kale too, which I won't touch now)?

Why won't you touch your kale?

Because it's *covered* in these little whiteflies.

But if you spray it with soft soap for a couple of days, it won't be "covered" with those little white flies!

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

another magazine mentioned (but didn't name) a new organic spray that was marketed as a plant nutrient but its happy side-effect was that it killed whitefly too. I suspect it was seaweed foliar feed

          This mentions it too.

Is it white fly or grey aphids?? I have never experienced white fly as a pest ouside, but that does not mean it can't be. I have however had quite a lot of severe damage to cabbages due to grey aphids. Once they get a hold it usually means the compost heap for the cabbage.

I found what looked like white paint blobs on my cauli leaves. When I turned the leaves over there were tiny triangular white flies on them.
I rubbed them off as much as I could and the little flies flew away and then I covered the cauli plants as well as my broccoli and cabbage in a fine mesh net.
Did I do right or should I chuck my cauli plant away?
I'm guessing these are whitefly as I just googled for pics.
