  • Where is the weirdest place you have seen a vegetable/fruit plant growing?

Recently went to Scarborough and stumbled across a secluded beach area. On exploration I came across a group of tomato plants growing out of rocks/pebbles! Seeds left over from a family picnic perhaps? who knows

In my flower border I have a potato plant which was obviously left in spent compost from last year's planter crop - I put the spent compost as a mulch around my plants.
When in Petra, Jordan some years ago a fig tree was growing out of a crevice in the rock face about 60 foot up in the air. I thought that pretty odd but your Tom plants on the beach beats it I think :-)

It amazes me just how determined tomato seeds are! Great pictures, thank you.

I have (alpine I think) strawberry plants growing in gravel down my garden - I don't have any strawberry plants in this garden.. so they've either been dispersed by birds, or erm no idea

I have a potato plant growing through the cracks in my patio - I have no idea how a potato managed to get underneath my patio.
