  • Where to put what?!

I've tried to pack as much as I can in this year but have a couple of worries. My garlic isn't far off but does it matter what I put in next? Am thinking leeks that I've currently got in modules? Similar thing once my onions are ready. I've sown some dwarf green kale in a seed tray, would they be o.k going in where the onions have been?

One last thing! Has anyone got any other suggestions of what I could sow now (or later) once the beetroot and summer squashes are over. Have already got jerusalem artichoke, carrots, PSB and usual salad stuff and things in GH. I hate seeing bare earth, even in middle winter!

Try and follow one crop with a dissimilar crop. There's still loads that can be sowed now and later in the year. Beans and peas can be sown now, carrots, turnips, swedes to name but a few. Spring cabbage in July and Japanese onion sets and garlic a bit later.
Easiest way is just to be guided by the seed packet information.

      Hi Beckybex,
I stuff spinnach in wherever I have a gap - I have to share it with the slugs so I never have too much !
It's quick to crop. Last year I grew American land cress which took over a bit but went thru to late Autumn and has a similar taste to water cress. It's low growing and would stuff nicely between other crops and the peppery taste seems to put off the slugs.
