  • where do i put the cucumbers?!

    Hi everyone,

I have been looking through my allotment book, and i have got beds divided into 3 sections, for a 3yr rotation! 1) root veg, 2) brassicas, 3) legumes &salad. And then a bed for permanent crops. he says in the book that toms, courgettes, aubergines and capsicums can be grown in the permanent plot, does this mean then, that i can put these crops in the same place every year? - no rotation needed?

but i also have cucumbers growing, which will be ready to put outside soon, but where should these go? he doesnt say where to put the cucumbers!

It might be as a lot of cucumbers are grown inside green houses as they like it warm and not to drafty but you can buy outside variety cues but not sure about weather u can grow them in the same spot over and over ..although I have not come across any articles that say you shouldn't grow them in the same place so maybe you can as it's usually quite well written about when you reed about brassicas and Luther veg family's
    My year log of growthhttp://http://backgardenfarm.blogspot.com/
up dated blog 27th june ..pls read if u have the time

With your four bed layout it can be either in with the salad stuff (others),in the permanent bed (as it is the same family as corgettes, marrows, pumpkins, etc) or grow it on the compost heap
