do you mean black water tank, firstly have you got any drainage holes in it that work, how deep is the growing medium, and what is it,you only feed them after first flowers,my thoughts are, they had to much water especially if in deep, have a gentle feel and look at a root to see if they have a good root system, maybe you have fed them to soon, before the roots were established, that coupled with to wet a ground is not good for them,

yep i can see from your pics that the 'back thingy' that you are growing them in is definately the cistern.

At looking at the pics, i would say that your bean plants are suffering from wind burn!

well if its definately wind burn, the only 'cure' is to put it in a more sheltered position and give them a feed.

However my dwarf french had wind burn early on in the season and as they are in a bed i cant move them, so last week i gave them a feed and now they have picked up and put on more growth - and a lot of fruit have set - yay.

They are very big plants for a 10ltr container. I think you should up your watering and feeding regime to at least double what you are doing now.
