Sorry, but getting a bit ahead of myself here 
. If the offer of a garden (20 by 50 ft) goes through, and I've got to only clear this years weeds only, (no nettles or thistles), what do you think I have time to grow? (OH said he will help, back trouble not withstanding

I was thinking of putting in some beans and cougettes in pots (bearing my rent will be paid in produce), ready to plant out later.
I have celeriac plants I was going to give away, which might well stay now, and four small tomato plants.
Is it too late for potatoes and brassicas? Due to lack of space these have disappeared from my growing list these days.
Once I've seen the garden and talked with the owner I'll have bit more idea how long term this might be. Think I'll check the Landshare website for guidlines, as the contact came from there.
