Well I've got two in smaller pots than that so I hope so !!!! (although they are extras that I couldn't bear to compost and I'm not looking for a huge crop!!!!
)
One thing to watch with that type of plastic container is that some of them have very narrow bases and fall/blow over easily - that one looks Ok though
The proof of the growing is in the eating.
Leave Rotten Fruit.

That will be big enough Mchanen.
I would put something in the bottom of it for weight. Courgettes get quite top heavy.
And yes they are greedy feeders. I mix some manure (6x or somerhing) in with the compost.

as courgettes are such hungry plants can you plant then in buckets of manure with no soil or compost as manure is rich in nutrients and can hold the water well?Comment

I've got a few courgette seedlings now, i've never grown anything like this before so need all the help i can get

If you're not troubled by how they look, the buckets you can get from B&Q, WIckes etc are only a quid each. I use them for my tomatoes. Just drill a few holes in the bottom for drainage and the other advantage is they have a handle if you need to move them (depending on whether it will interfere with the plant or not of course!).Comment

Hmm that is a good idea- and cheap, i ain't to fussed about the look of the pot it's the veg i'm intrested in.
Only thing with that is i'm not to handy with a drill and am worried i'd cause damage to both me and the bucket- suppose that's that the OH is for lol

Worth also checking out Wyevales pot recyling area - I've found some decent sized ones in there before.
Ref the drill - you can use a soldering iron too (or a hot skewer).Comment

i'm growing my courgettes in those exact pots. I soak them through in the evening (and I have water retaining crystals and CLAY soil mixed in there) but they are still bone dry by the time I get to them the next day. I think realistically, I would use a bigger pot
