  • What to plant.

    Hi. My broccoli and cabbages are nearly finished have I still got enough time to grow most things? My first year so any help would be great

    Spring onions, winter onions and garlic in autumn, cut and come again salad leaves; eg mizuna or beetroot leaves, salad leaves in the shade, beetroot, radish, Florence fennel, kale, purple sprouting broccoli, chard, last chance for carrots, winter hardy peas and broad beans sown in autumn

      Ok thanks a lot. What about potatoes have i missed the chance to grow any now

        You can get cold stored seed potatoes for planting now, but they rarely survive getting blight

          Ideally, you should have things "waiting in the wings" in modules/pots: I have loads of brassicas waiting to go out, squash and lettuce

            Perhaps a trip to the garden centre (local car boot or school fete) for some plug plants? There's often people selling their surplus, bean, courgette and squash plants now.

              Don't forget Leeks, they are still available in the g centres as plants but its too late to sow the seeds I would think.
