  • What I sowed today....

Can we have the sticky back please. As well as the lunar planting one if need be.

I would like to learn what people are planting on a daily basis to help me decide what to plant and when.

The current advice given on the lunar thread might be quite pertinent but the sample is just not wide enough to be fully useful.

I am afraid that those people who would usually be joining the thread are not doing so because they might not be adhering to lunar rules and might not want to join in.....i would like to hear from as many people in surrounding locations as possible

I think that we need a sticky back for all those people who want to share information.

if you mean this thread ........ http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...day_56188.html .. it still shows as a sticky for me

It may be that stickeys are temporarily affected by some of the upgrades

I too thought there used to be a sticky purely for What i sowed today...not the "what i did today one"?

Surely that's rather unnecessary? I visit the "What I did today" thread regularly. It's plain as a pikestaff what folks are sowing on there, as well as whatever else they have done

I didn't say it was necessary....I merely said I thought that there used to be one!

The thread you are looking for is here but I don't think it is worth falling out over.

Thanks bigmally the thread must have fallen out of favour due to the lunar planting sticky superseding it. My point is that lunar planting is only a very small percentage of what the whole forum is planting and I was using the previous thread as an excellent guide to what to plant when based upon what everyone else was doing.

I felt that the quality of information had diminished by allowing the post to fall away at the same time as making the lunar planting a sticky.

My reference to the lunatics taking over the asylum was an oblique reference to this very fact. I somehow likened lunar planters to lunatics purely by reference to the influences of the moon and the asylum to the forum.
I was trying to say he lunar planters appear taking over the management of the forum through biased moderation.
I though that moderators were there to ensure balanced discussion is allowed and lunar planting is in my opinion being overly promoted through the use of a sticky. Surely we are allowed to voice an opinion.

Where has balanced discussion not been allowed?

We decided to not stick the sowing thread as it just confuses the issue of what people do each day - most will post on the long running and perfectly amenable 'what I did today thread'.

The Moon thread is stuck separately as it's a separate date related thread.

Opinions are always allowed to be voice so long as you don't make them personal, as it appears in my opinion that's what happened. At this time of year there are various threads that more or less give the same answers. The lunar planting thread gives you ideas of what is being sown at this time as does the "What I did today thread" & now the "What I sowed today". I initially started the thread because it was directed only at sowing & not digging the plot, cleaning the greenhouse etc. Anyways, this is a great forum & my advice is that if you really want to enjoy it, just try & bite your tongue now & then........... It really is worth it.
