  • Wet weather

I know it`s raining again, but my veg garden is coming on a treat.
Some of my runnerbeans will be ready to eat with next sundays roast, I will have lots of peas. The onion`s, sweetcorn, cabbage, celery and carrots are coming on brilliantly.
But it can stop for a bit now or I will need a boat to harvest them.

No worries Sharon. I've put up my water butt today (at last) so it's clearly not going to rain for the next three months...

I know what you mean. My OH put the guttering up on his new workshop yesterday, not put the waterbutt there yet so I1m sure it won`t rain yet.

It's been fine here in the south east. Last night was calm with no breeze and i got loads of prunings burnt off. This eve we are logging to top up the log pile . The early rain this week has given my beans a lift too and i got turnips coming out my ears .

I worry that even though they are getting rained on, it's hitting the leaves and not the roots! I do worry about over watering them and when to water though as my tomatoe leaves and my leek leaves are brown and curled and crispy as if they aren't getting enough even when we have so much rain!!
