        Very grim down here, too.
Two jumpers today - should be bikini gardening - although perhaps that is better for the neighbours!
Lost a third of my peppers and the tomatoes look very sad.

I've not even got my french beans to germinate yet, and I live in france! First lot rotted in their pots, the only things that took were 4.5 runner beans and 4 kidney beans via the seed exchange (possibly from Pyrenees Plot??). So I'm starting again. But down to max 10/ min 3 degrees forecast this week, so..... However, I was still planting french beans until late July last year and got good crops, so there's time yet, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed... *sigh *

No sign of sun in the near future, I'm afraid

Depressing, isn't it? It's 8c here right now, and the heating's just come on

We have had some nice sunny days up here, but accompanied by strong, cold winds most of the time. This last week end we were under rolls of haar! Only the veggies in the tunnel and greenhouse and, of course, the conservatory, are actually growing and producing fruit. I wonder if it's going to be necessary to grow things only indoors in pots from now on!

We're forecast down to 1c again a couple of nights this week and I've just planted half of my tomatoes in the polytunnel beds I'm not sure how I'm going to protect them now, they're too spread out to protect with a big bit of fleece. Pray that they've got it wrong seems the best option!

Like everywhere else, it's been bleak, wet and freezingly cold here in Manchester. Only over the past week or so have things got a little better and my spuds are finally starting to show through the soil. Just hoping that things start to pick up, cos I have no more room in my greenhouse to shelter plants anymore !

Weather is pants and to add to that some Muntjac deer decimated my brassica's this morning it seems, I can see some central leaves forming so they might just recover.
