  • Waiting with bated breath.........

Just totally unbelievable ! The skies have been getting darker and darker for hours, we've had the pre downpour fluttery breezes, the air was thick like treacle. I'm watching and waiting, praying in fact for the heavens to open, I have no recollection of the last time it rained and my poor allotment is like a desert. Low and behold I accidentally lie down, wake up half an hour later and the skies aren't dark anymore and all that went before seems like a dream............WHEN WILL IT RAIN !!!!!

I too am waiting for the rain, we had a shower which did not even wet the ground earlier and now back to blazing sunshine!

Add a tablespoon or two of white vinegar to one litre of your water and that should keep it towards the preferred acidic side for the blueberries.

Everyone is waiting for rain. It must rain soon surely. I have 5 water butts and 2 are completely empty and some of the others are not far behind. It seems like years since we had rain.

Well it's been raining here in South Wales - a lovely heavy steady rain since about 3pm.

Never thought I'd be glad of rain but the ground is parched and all the butts are empty.

Chrismarks - you're very close to where I live so you should have rain by now!

We had 2 or 3 minutes of drizzle earlier this afternoon.

I give in - have had washing out, have washed then polished the car and it still hasn't rained! Tenth Feb now it last had a proper rain. Have had three one minute showers since, in March... My blueberries have never known rainwater. I don't think they like me!

STOP it BiP - if it's in NE Derbyshire, it will come to the south of the county and I just want to see my Pattys Plum poppy come out and stay out for once!

Well, here in Lowestoft, it's gone all dark and quiet just like it does before a good downpour. However, it's been like that for over an hour now and still no rain! We desperately need some.
