  • Vietnamese Watercress - anybody grown it?

Got my HSL seeds today and I've opted for a few from the new seeds project. Managed to work out what I'm going to do with most of them but am not too sure of the best way to grow the Vietnamese Watercress. Obviously I know it wants boggy conditions but am not sure of any of it's other requirements and can't find much help on the internet. Has anybody grown this successfully and if so, how?

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Am guessing I'll just have to give it a go then as it doesn't look like anybody else is any the wiser either

I nearly chose the watercress too, but I'm not sure it would be different from seeds I already have, so I didn't bother. If it is the same I've had good results sowing them in modules indoors and then transplanting out into pots or a long plastic trough. They need a container underneath for a reservoir so the stay nice and damp. Yum summer salads

I wasn't sure either but I do like to try something totally different and that was one of this year's choices along with the lablab beans (at least I think I know what to do with them!). Need to have a think about how I'm going to do the damp bit, not worked it out yet.

Snap, I did Lablab beans too Which ones did you choose? I went for Bangladeshi (white flowered).

I've also grown Watercress inside a poly-tunnel in the ground and as long as kept moist they did really well. The patch was there for a couple of years until I needed the space for something else. I don't think being in a poly tunnel was important, it's just at the bottom corner it tends to remain fairly moist, so suited them.
