  • Very small tomato plants .... with big roots!!

I posted on another thread about how my tomatoes and chillies had stalled so much over the past few weeks. Examining them today I have noticed that whilst many are only 1-2" tall, with just one pair of true leaves, their roots are busting out of the bottom of a 3" pot!! I am guessing this bodes well for the season ... but do I pot them in to final grow bags now, to stop them getting rootbound but at such a small stage ..... or leave them to put on top growth at the risk of becoming potbound?

I'd pot them on into a bigger, deeper pot, not their final home just yet.
