I've just taken out a subscription to growveg.com...it's quite easy and i think it'll be good (my problem is that i'm not very good at recording what i planted where for each year so i'm hoping this is going to help!)

For the last couple of years I've just used a simple drawing program on the computer. It's basically just rectangles and coloured lines to indicate the different crops. Colour-filled circles are used for tubs and containers and you just move them around on the drawing to suit their positions in the real garden. If the attachment has worked it might give some idea. The reality was slightly different but I've never been much good at following plans

I tried using growveg and whilst the demo made it seem the answer to planning prayers with the programe automatically working out planting spaces, etc, in reality I just couldn't get on with it and I'm reasonably techie. I had problems moving 'plots' around the screen, etc, so have gone back to good old graph paper and a pencil

I have used growveg for a couple of years now and the initial setup of the beds is a bit fiddly but it keeps me quiet for an afternoon once a year. Putting the veg in is easy to do initially and to change as the year goes on. I usually only use it in the first 3 months of the year by which time any system would have become obsolete. It is also usefull in that once you have put in all your veg you will then get a monthly reminder of what you should be sowing.

Visio is great for doing this, especially using my custom shape templates for Veg
