  • Unknown seedling sprouted?

    Hi everyone new to forum , new to growing 1st year and probably put this in wrong place , but im learning. Anyway to the title , after moving things out of my celled trays many weeks ago , ive come and noticed this unknown seedling of something growing.
    Could anyone tell what it is? thank you

            I would say sunflower too, esp since it looks like a sunflower case holding the leaves together!

                Yep, black sunflower, the sort you get in wild bird food (black from the colour of the seed, not the flower!)
                Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

                      Let it grow on a bit - it does look like a sunflower. We have had all sorts of stuff coming from wild bird food - memorably in the Olden Days, Cannabis. They soon stopped putting that in!

                          Do you still get it in packets of Trill? Used to end up with it growing on rubbish tips where people had thrown the muck away after cleaning out the bird cage.

                            It looks squash-y to me.

                            If it grow straight up really really quickly, then sunflower.

                            If it doesn't, then some sort of squash.

                            Take another pic in a week and lets see the difference.

                              I'd got for sunflower first choice, could be a squash (corgette, pumpkin) with a grubby seed?
