  • Uncovering PSB

    Hi all,

If I take the netting off the PSB will it be munched by the pigeons? It has just started to sprout spears.

    Thanks.

They were snooping around my PSB and kale at the weekend, had to readjust the netting as it was getting a bit close.

Take it off today and see if there is any plant left tomorrow
Best keep it on just in case

Particular reason you want/need to take it off?

I've left the netting on mine - as I don't want to share my PSB with anything else!

We live in a farming area and until the field peas are up the pigeons will take anything! It's not worth the risk when you've nurtured the plants through all those months.

I left my net on all year last year. PSB is a valuable crop, I'm not having no pesky pigeons getting hold of it!

Haven't netted this year, they seem more concerned with the spring greens.

STEP AWAY FROM THE NETTING........... unless of course you've nurtured your PSB through the cold winter months just to provide the pigeons with a hearty breakfast.

                  I will leave it alone.

I took mine off last winter when it snowed badly and never bothered putting it back on, no real problems with birds but then again they don't seem to be much of an issue round here. This year I rigged up a winter netting that would let the snow through (previously they had enviromesh which can't cope with snow) and that's still up but am not sure I need it really.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
