most of these are 2 foot tall what problems would you think i will have with these raised beds as this is the only way i will be able to garden Thanks

Problems -
The amount of soil you'd need to fill them
Maybe difficult to reach the far side or is there acess all the way round?
Painted/stained in one of those garden paints I think they'd look really good

my original beds were 5 foot wide and about 15 inches high that had taken years to build up so by the time my daughter had dug them out and placed the pallet collars she put the bricks in the bottom and used the soil i had from the original beds,the compost bin has been emptied into them there is still one that needs filling but it will have to wait till the end of season and i will put all spent compost out of the greenhouse in it.I heard about pallet collars about six months ago but could not find any till my son came across these they are 4 foot 6 inches by 2 foot 6 inches so i can reach to the back of them.They were £5 pounds each from a pallet yard and it was well worth it as i have not been able to do anything in the garden since an operation 18 months ago.Thanks Bigmally they were right way up till i uploaded them and it took me an hour to do that and couldn't figure out how to turn them.Comment

Pallet collars are instant! No work required.
Although not entirely sure how long they'll last. I've got some - will have to look up when I got them. Either 2 or 3 years.Comment

You'll have a problem with carrots......they'll grow so enormous you'll need to wheelbarrow each one home individually.Originally posted by two brews View Post

Carrots are the first thing i've planted in them i'll have to reinforce my wheelbarrow as its falling apart if they are going to grow that big.Anyone got ant ideas on what fence paint is best to paint them with.I'm not really bothered if they last only a few years as they mean i can at least grow some veg as i can only garden stood up.the other alternatives I found were concrete gravel boards and posts or railway sleepers both very expensive .Comment

I've used pallet extensions to grow celery for exhibition. Heaps of cow dung dug in annually. No fence paint or preservative applied and they are still going strong after almost 10 years nowComment
