  • Two inches of soil!

    Ideas please!!

I picked up a couple of these today and I'm sure they could be planted into - not just used for carrying pots around. Two of them, side by side, would give you 28 x 4" diameter planting pockets in a space roughly 2' square. A sort of mini -square foot garden
What could be grown in 2.5" deep containers - approx seed tray depth.
Thoughts so far - radish, spring onions, lettuce, rocket, basil, garlic chives, strawberry, mustard, cress .........
I'd like 28 different things please

I've been using these for years. Great for when you split things like marjoram, plant up strawb runners, and good for quick growing stuff like spring onions, lettuces etc.

Thanks Zaz. I fancy a miniature Sq Ft garden, maybe a herb garden that could be carried into the GH over winter. Its just because they were free - now I have to find a use for them!

how about those small round or chanteney carrots or even watercress. You might even get away with putting beetroot in them.
