  • Tumbling toms looking under the weather?

Does anyone know what might be going on with my tumbling toms?
The plants seem healthy and are flowering nicely, except for the leaves/stems at the bottom of the plant, that are looking really quite sickly. I have 4 plants outside and 4 in the greenhouse and they are all showing the same kind of thing
Anything above the bottom branches look fine and healthy.
They had a feed bit over a week ago, and epsom salts a week before that.

I agree with the wielder of the pointy stick. Those leaves have done their job. Remove and all should be fine
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

            Yes, as simple as that!!
The leaves will die off further up the stem, as the plant gets older. Only start to worry when the ones on the top are dying off

Wait, just take the leaves off, or the whole stem with the past their best leaves on. Some of them would pretty much leave a bear branch?

Take the leaf off back to the main stem. If you bend it slightly it will probably snap off in your hand

Correct you were, of course Most of them just fell off.

Which reminds me, i need to give the cucumbers a prune. Pretty sure they are going for world, or at least greenhouse, domination!

You'll probably find some yellow bottom leaves on the cukes too. I usually cut those off as they can be a bit prickly - and I'm a wimp

So far they seem all fine, even the leaves that got badly sun scorched when they were just wee ones are hanging on in there

As VC said, they're old leaves and should be cut off. Tomatoes take the goodness out of old leaves and use it higher up the plant to help it grow so leaves die off as the plant gets bigger.
