    Toughend glass

    Dear all,

    need help

    I have access to get the sheets, what can make with them..and what size of the glass sheets I can collect as they can not be cut to different sizes ...

    other than glass I have some bits of wooden posts..and can buy green house bases for cheap...what can be build ..cold frame or green house?

    It all depends on how good your DIY skills are and if you have the muscle to pick the glass up.my GH is built with toughened glass and I was so glad I hired someone to put it together - the glass sheets were extremely heavy.

      Scarlet I do not do it my self, my builders visitingg us now and then as they keep leaving things unfinished for ever... and my dad would be helping or will hire some one to put them together..I am more inclined todo long cold frames along the fence. can you suggest what else is needed..

        I haven't got a clue as I'm rubbish at DIY! Though you may find that trying to piece bits together and paying a builder to do do will probably end up more costly than buying something off the shelf. Especially if you haven't got a fixed idea of what you want.

          There is one problem with toughened glass, when it breaks it shatters into squillions of pieces. Not a few big shards as 'normal' glass does. If a breakage occurs you may be picking up small squares of glass for days. Cheers, Tony.

              Scarlet, how didi you built the GH frame? readymade one is it?
