1 Are you on an allotment site
2 Are you allowed to import top soil (we are not allowed on our site incase you bring in infected soil)
3 How about digging the soil out of the bed about a spit deep filling the bed with well rotted manure/compost/leafs and then putting the soil backon top of this.

The beds are in my front garden. Can not dig too far down as there is building rubble about 1 foot down hence why I am going for raised beds.

.. but is your front garden in Scotland or Cornwall, or somewhere in between? Put your area in your posts, that helps to get replies. I've got tons to spare but I'm in N E Wales.

            Hi
I just filled my garden raised beds with compost and manure. They've been going for 3 years now and no problems. It was just cheap compost 4 x 75L bags for £10.

              Hi Alison

Thanks for letting us know where you are - if you pop that into your profile, people can help without asking each time.

Have you tried Freecycle. we got a load when we moved from a guy doing his back garden. Or try a landscape gardener - they often have to move topsoil and have to pay to have it taken away,
