  • Too Late?

Hello! Just looking for a bit of advice. I got my first allotment a month ago, planted some potatoes and onions, and then had to go into hospital for surgery so I've been off for a month.

Lots of weeds have grown (of course). My potatoes and onions too. However I'm just wondering if I'm too late for growing things this year? I've aquired a greenhouse on my plot now too, if that makes a difference.

I have some pumpkins growing on my window sill at the moment, but wondered what else I could start in the greenhouse now or plant out? I feel very overwhelmed by the amount of information but really just want to get started. I'm the newest newbie ever, please be gentle!

    Thank you lots

Wow there's a lot! I was worried I would be very restricted to what I could do. Thanks so much

Never too late, well when the snow is falling maybe. Get some beetroot and plenty of lettuces on the go. Kale is another good one to start soon. I have a small plant just started and then will start another soon. Another one is radishes.

and dont be afraid to buy plants someone else has started, its not too late for tomatoes, cucumber etc if you buy healthy plants.

Hi Amanda. Hope you're OK now.
As you've seen, there's still plenty of time to sow seeds and the shops and garden centres are full of seedlings to give you a head start.

Ha, there was me congratulating myself on looking like easily managing my target of 80 varieties this year and now look whats happened! MORE seeds on the way. I may need to raise my target here.
