Not too late for p[otatoes but try and find an early main or one of the dual purpose early/mains..... Rocket should still get you a crop..... or else grow in pots adn be aware that you'll have to worry about bringing them in if frost is forecast in early autumn..... you won't get particulalry good onions frmo sets now though, you really are a month late.....

If it's any consolation, I still have a load of bags of spuds not showing yet.

To get a decent return then veg should be sown within the recommended timeframe. However I'm always of the oppinion that it is never to late to have a go, but you just have to lower the expectations. Soif you have sets and spuds doing nothing and have the space then you have nothing to loose by planting them.

I put my last batch of roosters in at the weekend. Don't think it's too late.

I've just put some Roosters in too, though of course earlies will be quicker if you can find them.
I've got 3 bags of onion sets for 50p, so I'll be using them as spring onions or for pickling

Don't feel too bad. I've managed to achieve bugger all so far this year. Finally got to the allotment this week and got digging. I have three bags of onion sets, two bags of shallots and loads of potatoes still to go in. Arrghhhhh.

I put some kestrels in during August last year and got some nice new spuds later on in the year, so I'd go for it!
