I had the first from my greenhouse this weekend.

I've had some Sungolds, both from the greenhouse and outside, and a couple of Golden Sunrise from the greenhouse but that's all. I don't udually get many before August and I always grow most in the greenhouse. It's still a bit early. However, on the allotment, in spite of flowering profusely, many aren't setting. I think I've only got about 3 Subarctic Planty set from about 8 plants. Big disappointment!

We've had a few, of different varieties, off our outside plants (in the ground), but not the outside ones in pots, and the greenhouse ones in the border.

@Flummery - Hey Flum, how are your Flumgold toms growing/tasting? I ditched our sub-arctic plenty about 1 month ago when the other varieties started fruiting before it!

All my toms are painfully slow, this year, no doubt due to the rubbish summer! As long as I get SOME, it'll be worthwhile. I'm being positive, thinking that even if the crop is rubbish, it's better than me sitting in front of the telly, like some people do!

Good on ya sluglobber,im the same any nice weather im outside even if its looking for stuff to do,but the size of my garden theres always something to do,at the mo i am in the process of clearing and marking out for greenhouse number 2 which i have abit of july and a couple of weeks in august,to sort out hopefully to put in place before october.

Picking some of my small ones - Piccolo and Yellow Currant, plus one or two Giant Belgian - which are known to be 'early'. So don't worry, you'll soon be wondering what to do with all the toms!

Flumgolds (like the name! - I'd thought of Tom Flum!) are all in flower but not set yet. They were well behind my usual sowing time. They should produce fruit by the end of the summer (if we get one!). I'll keep you posted.

I spent yesterday converting 3kg of Silvery Fir Tree tomatoes into pasta sauce (3kg toms + 1 bottle red wine = 6 potions of sauce - nice!)

I've had toms off Golden Cherry, Alaskan Fancy, Gartenperle (how bland

), Stupice (gorgeous flavour

) and Tigerella.

Lots of varieties haven't coloured up at all yet - don't worry Finney, as Kentvegplot says, you'll soon be swamped with them and using the receipe above.

Not picking yet, however my Red Alert (outside) are heavily ladened and a bit of sunshine and they'll be ripening (fingers crossed) as are the ones in my hanging baskets. The Sub Artic Plenty aren't doing much although are now flowering well and the Lettuce Leaf are the healthiest plants I've ever seen (starting to produce green toms now too). Greenhouse has Ferline, Black Russian and Gardeners' Delight - all forming well but nothing ripening yet. Didn't sow any of mine until well into April so wasn't expecting anything yet. A friend of mine has a pretty good greenhouse crop going now but did sow much earlier.

52 tomato plants in total, lots of set fruit, some of it lovely n big, but only 3 cherry toms ripening at the moment! If the sun doesnt come out n shine, then I'm gonna be making a huuuuuge amount of green tomato chutney this year methinks!

Only had 4 toms off the alicante. Must be well over a 1000 small cherry toms in baskets but no sign of them going red yet, still they are in a shaded spot so not likely to be very early. Rest of toms are a good size so wont be long before they are coming out of my ears. That reminds me does anyone want a ton of courgettes.

we had our one red alicante out of the greenhouse yesterday...bloody yummy...just need more sun to ripen the rest now...

Ate 1 red tumbling tom the other day - rest are still green or not yet set.
Ate 1 sunbaby yellow today (it was really hot from being in the GH

) - there are 3-4 more just about ready, but the rest are green or not yet set.
