what should I do? My tomatoes are about a foot high, with only a few leaves, but have started flowering. Shall I pinch out the flowers to encourage them to grow a bit or I just know I'll end up with 2 tomatoes on each plant!

Same here - I'm no expert but will be leaving mine. They continue to grow with new flowers developing as it does. -
Just let them do what they are doing naturally. They will grow and form more flowers as they get big enough.Happy Gardening,

Why are you worrying about tomatoes growing flowers, that's what they do and then the flowers become tomatoes.....????? Isn't that what you want???

Your tomatoes are doing what you want them to do Queen of the Cobs - flowering so that they can make tomatoes.
If you are growing them in pots, now that they are in flower they can go into their final size pots (12"). Enjoy the tomatoes.

Tomatoes
I read somewhere that its better to keep tomatoes short of water untilllllllll, but cant find the site and cant remember why and until when. Does anyone know about this, also when is it the best time to start using tomato feed,how often etc. my tomatoes last year where awful, a nice size but tasteless and I wondered if it had anything to do with the feeding/watering.any suggestionsComment

If you overwater tomatoes they do tend to be tasteless and rather watery (funnily enough!). Although obviously you mustn't underwater either.

ok, I know the flowers become fruits
Just worried that once they put their energy into flowering and fruiting they won't have as much time to out into growing, and I won't get the pounds and pounds of tomatoes off each plant that I am used to.
I shall follow your advice and leave them on, but hope it all works out.Comment

It's been that long since I saw a tomato flower I'm beginning to forget what they look like
. I have plants ranging from just potted seedlings with first true leaves to about 12" high, no sign of a flower anywhere.
