  • Tomatoes in the blow-away

    Hi All

My tomatoes are now triffid-esque and so they have been overnighting in the blow-away for the last week or so (the overspill on the patio). It's due to get down to around 3oC tonight and I'm wondering if the ones in the blow-away will be too cold with that sort of night-time temp. I don't have any fleece to cover them and as there are rather a lot now in their final buckets, I don't want to bring them all in as there's not that much space (the ones on the patio I will certainly bring in). At the same time, I'd rather crowd the house out with tomatoes than loose the lot to a sudden blast of cold. What do you think??
    Thanks!
If it ain't broke...fix it til it is!

Most of mine are actually planted in the greenhouse borders, so I'm wrapping these in polythene and keeping fingers crossed.
The peppers and toms in buckets are coming back indoors. That way if the border ones snuff it, at least I'll have a few live ones

    Blimmin weather huh!

Wrap newspapers around your plants that should help.
