  • Tomato wilting

I had three Latah tomatoes started in early Feb on the windowsill during last week - at first the seed leaves wilted then growth stopped and now the lower leaves are wilting. Am I right in thinking they've had far too much sun and heat, we moved into a new house last summer and I suspect the new double glazing has been all too much for them.

It really can't be the compost as I've other things doing ok in same compost.

I don't think it's over watering as I watered these pretty much as needed and saw no sign of drooping caused by moisture stress.

It's also not the end of the world as I've another 23 coming along about a month behind, but it would be useful to know if it is scorch and is there any way of saving them and still getting an early crop.

I've given them a spray of seaweed & water and moved them out of direct sunlight.

I'm considering repotting them and burying them above the wilting leaves

Jiving on down to the beach to see the blue and the gray, seems to be all and it's rosy-it's a beautiful day!

They do look a bit 'Scorchio' don't they? They might well recover a bit out of direct light. I wouldn't give up on them, but they might have had enough of a set-back that they won't end up being any earlier than your 2nd sowing! Time will tell

It's hard to tell from the pics King Carrot, but they could have been scorched. If you've moved them out of direct light they might recover - tomatoes are pretty tough. I think all you can do is wait and see.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
