I have several well rooted armpits (sideshoots) and no room for any more pots in the GH, nor do I want to plant them outside with blight season upon us.
Time for an experiment
Some of the older, early cropping bush tomato plants like Latah look tired, as if they've done their bit, so I've bunged an armpit in beside them, in the same pot. As the new plant grows, or the old one gives up the ghost, I'll cut it down and leave the armpit to take over the space.
AFAIK the armpits are all from cordon toms so should grow above the heads of their neighbouring bush toms.
May work or may not. Nothing to lose and everything to gain
