    For those of us who have not had blight.

    and after reading through the blight thread my sympathies are with everyone who has had Tomatoes/spuds subjected to this horrible disease.
    So for the fortunate ones of us (thus far fingers crossed) Hows your Toms doing.
    I have the majority growing indoors (around 25) and outside around a dozen.
    Have been picking the indoor ones now for a couple of weeks producing over 50llbs. Mostly given to family & friends but,have heartly eaten lots of salads. We have also made many jars of chutney. Just waiting for the peppers to ripen now to combine them with the Toms for more chutney & pickling.

    That's an ingenious way to support your outdoor toms

    I've got 3 plants in the kitchen window then 6 outdoors all with green toms on, hopefully mine will start ripening soon.
    Location....East Midlands.

      Wow. What a lot of tomatoes!

      I've had blight outside on my tatties but inside the tunnel the tomatoes have so far escaped... (fingers crossed). I've got 4 tomatoes on one plant and 2 plum toms on another - from 6 plants this is all I have! Lots of flowers but no fruit coming. I was really hoping to make some chutney too - we don't like 'raw' tomatoes so hoped to cook them.

      I'm sure there's still time but I think with being this far north our growing season may be shorter?

      Yours are fab.

          I started on the 4th Feb. Seeded Fantasio & Moneymaker. I tried to stagger the sowing to get a continuation of fruits. Such was my enthusiasm I could only wait onother 12 days before sowing further seeds. 16 Feb sown Roma VF and Tamina,plus a few seeds bought back from Thailand.
          Having meticulously labelled them all in Feb. as the months went by with potting on the labels got mixed up, discarded, and now I'm not sure which are which.
          But all taste really sweet and no noticable difference in taste between them all. So to me a tomato is a tomato. Given that, I shall be sowing the same again next year.

            I thought so too Bren. That was until my guttering started leaking a couple of weeks ago and I had no ladders to fix it.

              That is a fab way to support the out door toms!

              Shame about the guttering but those toms aren't going anywhere and it's all about priorities!

              I've only lost one tomato plant and that was too the gusts.

              All my plants are outside and so far the remaining three 'Million' toms plants are taller than me and producing plenty of fruit. None are ripe yet.

              The three tumbling tom plants are a far more manageable size and also producing loads and ONE tomato has gone from green to orange! I'm so excited!

              It's my first year growing and I think I missed a few of the side shoots I was meant to take off the Million plants plus I haven't pinched them out at the top so I think next year I'll be more attentive and hopefully get more even tomatoes!

                GH toms doing OK, have harvested a couple of trusses of Sungold, sweet and delicious, have Shirley and one other that I forget that are growing well and seem to be in danger of pulling off the trusses are so full.

                          Flobalob, how big is your greenhouse?
                          I managed to squeeze in about 14 in a 6x6, but am planning on making a greenhouse this winter to the side, an approximate size would help-ish...
                          And Hilary, where did you get/how did you make the pots for the toms? They don't look like rigid pots...am interested for next year, will save me getting 'you're mad' looks form staff at Asdas and Sainsburys

                            My 'pots' are plastic bag pots from LBS sold in packs of 100 for sommat like £12. They are shaped so they don't fall and have holes in the bottom.
