What variety is it? Numex have purple ones as do many others. I'd reckon it is A OK.

I thought jalapeno, but they could easily be small cayenne.
Either of those would be fine anyway

don't know variety, got them off interweb in a foil envelope with argos on it, think it may have come free with a propagator or some such device. ;-)

Chillies come in all sorts of shapes and colours so they should be fine.

It'll be fine. Is it fully ripe? They go through that weird colour on the way from green to red.

you don't have to wait for them to ripen fully before harvesting anyway,I often pick jalapenos while they are green as soon as there are enough to fill a jar for pickling.they then go on to produce more fruit, the only difference seems to be the riper ones are slightly hotter (and a different colour of course)

yeah, a few have gone from green to purple/black, while some have gone green/red.

have got a few that have just lost the flower and are already purple......have never grown them before so was a bit confused.

I have about a dozen pots of chillies.Just leave them and they will eventually turn red.you can use them practically any colour and can dry them and use as chillies flakes.
