  • Which of these is the best to grow up an arch?

I have some seedlings for Kelvedon Wonder peas and Oregon Sugar Pod mangetout and was thinking of buying another arch for them to grow up.

I have two large tubs so will put the feet of the arch into both of these but which will be best to grow up it, the peas or mangetout?

I have a pergola (Oooh get him!!!) and up one side I grew purple podded peas and up the other side Ne Plus Ultra peas.
Both grow to about 7 foot high!

Why not grow both your varieties up the arch?

Re Pergola, I've heard you can get pills for that

I was going to say this, try both!

I would say "neither" - they won't do it justice
Put a proper climber on it like tall peas, climbing beans or a climbing courgette / cucumber / squash. Melons if it's full sun?

I have seeds for Burpless Tasty and Restina cucumbers.

Would any of these be suitable?

I haven't bought the arch yet, I just thought if I did buy one it would look nicer than canes.
