    After reading peoples advice I invested in 2 mini greenhouses so I could get my vegetables out from under the daylight bulbs in the garage, so in greenhouse 1 I have beetroot, radishes, red onions, lettuce, courgettes and some tomatoes and in greenhouse 2 I have some mixed salad leaves, a patty pan, sweet peppers and garden plant seedlings, I also gave my 2 vegetable plots a good feed and in plot 1 I have strawberries (which have gone mad ), potatoes, tomatoes (which I put in tuesday ) spring onions and leeks and in plot 2 I have more tomatoes, space ready for courgettes and patty pan, carrots and parsnips. I had way to many tomato plants so gave lots to the school and I am trying to persuade the school to have vegetable plot as I think it will encourage the children to try different vegetables and will also good for learning.
    I am thinking about buying a polytunnel what do you think?

    Get one. But take the beetroot, radish, onions and lettuce out of the greenhouse, they don't need oodles of heat.

      If you have the space, a polytunnel would be invaluable. I would have been tempted to keep the toms in the greenhouses but that's just me.

        Sweet peppers and tomatoes = greenhouse, all other produce needs to be outside. Welcome to the Vine by the way

          I have been taking everything out during the day and just putting the peppers back in at night because the weather is so nice, I have kept some tomatoes back as spares just in case the ones that I planted don't make it, I have cut the bottoms off juice bottles and put some air holes in them ready to put over the tomatoes I put in the garden if it turns cold again, and I brought protection fleece, I am new to all this so I don't really no what I am doing but have been reading alot of the posts on here to get some idea.

            It's a long learning curve sibcy, but you'll get there much quicker than you first thought, I'm sure. Ask plenty of questions and you'll get loads of advice. Enjoy yourself at the same time!

              You sound as if you really are enjoying growing your own. The polytunnel will extend your growing period and you'll end up with even more delicious veg and have a lot of fun doing it!

                I am loving growing all these vegetable and so are my children, its addictive, I would like to plant more but have run out of room at the moment.
