My T&M tricolour ball type courgettes are growing nicely but are all yellow. Do they change colour as they increase in size or do I have a duds?

Mine are mainly green,only got a couple of yellows and none of what the other colour is
We would have prefered the yellows

My plants are all still tiny and the leaves have turned yellow - flowers are just starting but I think I will have a bit of a wait for fruits

This sort of happened to us last year with our Butternut squash. I think some of them cross pollinated (?) with the pumpkins that were next to them as we ended up with something completely different to what we were expecting. One or two of them looked like they should but most looked distinctly odd-tasted alright tho!Comment

I grew them last year Amanda. It was obvious from the outset whether they were yellow , green or sriped. I got a good mixture. Maybe you have some other colours to come but here's mine.

I'm growing the yellow ball types this year - they are particularly good, and are generously cropping already.
I think you have got the best from your seed packet already - do you have seeds left for next year [and do you suppose they will all be green?]
I paid for loads of yellow ball type courgettes last year, as they were so good, and made fantastic courgette and mint soup from them.

Totally recommend this soup if you only get yellow ones, you lucky thing. Growing 4 Gold Rushes this year as can't get enough yellow courgettes

If you leave the round types do they "Marrow up" and go to the size of footballs? They would be easier to carve than a pumpkin, and be a bit different.Comment

I don't think so compost corner, there seems to be a limit to the size the round ones will go to. If left too long they just go seedy.
