  • Sweetcorn and squirrels

I planted out my sweetcorn last weekend, its about 20cm tall. I built a proctective cage around it with canes and netting to protect it from the birds and hopefully the squirrels (they ruined it all last year). However, they can still get in by digging under the netting. Does anyone have any tips for what I can do? I've ordered some more ground pegs to try and make the bottom of the netting even tighter but I think they will still be able to dig in no matter how tight it is!

If the netting is plastic, squirrels just rip it apart to get at the food.

It's nylon, just 2 out of 15 that have been ripped out so far, I have spares so I can re-plant. they are just so naughty!
