  • Sweet potatoes and containers.

My aunty has been sent some sweet potatoes (which she didn't order. However, not to look a gift horse in the mouth) she would like to try and grow them but doesn't really have space in her garden and when she has grow them outdoors before they haven't done well.

I have it in my head that they don't do well in containers but is that correct? If they will, how big a container do they need? My aunt is 75 and anything bigger than a grow bag/bucket is pretty well out of the question in handling terms.

Sorry, only ever grown them in the polytunnel border

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Wish I could offer some advice but I've tried growing SP twice & failed both times. I don't think our Summers are quite long enough.

Like Big Mally. Tried twice failed twice. Don't see why container won't work... Potatoe sack size I guess...
