Is it too late to sow some swedes? I did some earlier but the slugs got to them first

No. it's a good time to sew swede for the winter. Remember they are brassicas and under threat from Cabbage White Butterflies.
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.

I have just ordered some seeds from ebay, swedes and collies.

Do they get cabbage white butterflies at the time of year, slugs are my problem.

I much prefer them to turnips. Sowed the first lot 3 weeks ago where the first row of spuds had been. Another lot went in a couple of days ago. I find that the cabbage white butterflies seem to prefer leafy brassicas but they will certainly go for the swedes if nothing else is available. Keep them netted and you should be ok.

For some reason, the leaves are my chooks bestest favourite!
