  • Strange men on my plots..........

............with suits on, and clipboards in their hands, shaking there heads!

My allotment neighbour reckons I had a visit from the council jobsworths and it WASN'T to give me the 'tidy plot award'

I wonder whether they were impressed with my 'pocket planting' regime.............or did they just think the plots were derelict.

Quite a few plot holders have been getting letters from the Council lately, instigated no doubt by the old 'Brown dessert weedwatchers brigade' at the site.

Fair do's,if someone isn't using there plot and cultivating it they should be forced to make way for other worthy candidates on the waiting list.
My plot is planted up to the gunnards, with no bare soil and stuff still waiting to go in The weeds on the paths can wait as far as I am concerned...............but will I get a letter?
    Watch this space..........................

PS Must hasten to add...............they didn't have WHITE suits!!!!!!!

Why didn't you ask them? - Not the - "Oy what do you want?" approach, of course.

Usually the - "Hello, you seem to be looking for something (someone), perhaps I can help" enquiry opens the dialogoue on the right note and you would almost certainly get an explanation.

I like that "brown desert weed watchers" we have the same problem on our site the only differance is the BDWW are the ones that cover half their plots in slabs and bark brigade that are now running the allotment.

You'll have to explain to them. A green cover protects the soil over winter.

Had a word with the Secretary who agreed that they had no right to be there, I wasn't informed and neither was she.
She has recently become Secretary and was not happy about Council employees wandering around the site without her knowledge.
She is going to email them and ask them what they are playing at.................can't be fairer than that can she!

wish they would turn up on my site, then the 50 percent of unused /uncultivated plots could be allocated to some of the 500 people on harrows waiting list.I have now asked twice volunteering to clear very overgrown plots that have not seen a spade for 20 years only to be told they are "taken"
