  • storing for a weeks holiday

so tomorrow sees us go on our holidays and I would like to take as much veg with us for the week. what's the best way to store the veg for travelling to last 7 days?

    carrots
    cabbage
    onions
    potatoes from grow bag
    broadbeans
    runnerbeans
    cherry tomatoes

I have tons of those blue plastic mushroom crates that can stack up. will they suffice?

Onions will be fine as long as kept dry. Potatoes fine if kept cool, dry and dark. The rest of the stuff maybe in a coolbox? What quantities are you taking, and what is your method of transport?

We have a portable Fridge. It runs on 12/24v electricity, or gas. It has been a worth-while purchase, and served us well since I bought it second-hand nearly 8 years ago. Plug it in to get it cold first, then just run it from the cigar lighter socket in the car to keep it ticking over on the journey (don't open it) and it should be fine. That is, if you have room in the car!
