  • Square Foot Gardening - Sprouts and Brocolli

Has anyone grown sprouts & brocolli in a "square foot" garden. Is the limit one plant per square foot?

i did it last year. The limit is one per square. I found mine sprawled across the other beds, which was not a problem as it was salads and small crops. The sprouts were tiny on one plant and blew on the other but the purple sprouting broccoli did great and is still producing loads now.

I think so, yes - I didn't know how large they grew, so I've sown 4 to each one - ops. Planning to thin to 1 and transplant to the centre.

There are some dwarf varieties of broccoli and calabrese (green broccoli) which will allow you to grow 2 per square if you put them at diagonally opposite corners.
