Hmm, there should have been small spuds after 12 weeks. Have you watered them well? Was there no sign of spuds at all?

I thought pink fur were a main crop so 12 weeks would be a bit early for spuds to be formed

There were maybe raisin sized nodes that may be burgeoning spuds...... But I'd have expected proper veg by now..... am I just being impatient? The tops are starting to flower....

Did you pull or dig?. Could it be you've pulled the plant and left the spuds behind?

I did pull ....... but had a bit of a dig..... only 6" into the sub soil.....

might be worth digging gently a bit deeper or if the soil is soft enough get your hands down in there and have a feel around.

Pink Fir Apple are late maincrop potatoes, there's no way that they'd be ready to dig up yet. Try waiting til September

Just checked, and Thompson and Morgan say 20 weeks from planting to harvest, that's more or less 5 months...

I was about to say what Sarah said ... they are a late maincrop.

Peeps think "salad" means "early" but not in this case... I can still dig them in December in mild years

PFA do make load and loads of foliage............mine were 5 foot high last year and I had to hold them up with stakes and string.

Was worth it though as i had a tremendous crop in October!
